Farooq H. Naek dubs NAB Ordinance as ‘black law’
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader, Senator Farooq H. Naek on Monday labeled the National Accountability Bureau (NABZ) Ordinance as ‘black law’, saying it was enacted by former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
“Our government and even the incumbent one failed to amend this black law,” Naek said while speaking from the floor of the upper house, adding, the PPP government, however, did try in vain to amend or abolish this ordinance.
He said ‘some forces’ did not let the government introduce amendments to the ordinance or abolish it altogether.
Farooq H. Naek said under the present NAB Ordinance the Bureau’s Chairman enjoys numerous powers which are put to great misuse.
