Pakistan prepares plan of action to tackle climate change, says Nisar

NEW YORK - Speaking after the signing of Paris Climate agreement at a high-level ceremony in the UN General Assembly, Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan emphasized that adequate resources were critical for climate actions in developing countries.

One hundred seventy-five countries signed the agreement. Interior Minister termed the agreement as milestone saying the UN should take sincere and concerted efforts for its full implementation. He said though Pakistan is not a major contributor to global warming but still it is facing effects of climate change.

He said Pakistan has prepared a plan of action to meet the challenge. He said the issue can be tackled through collaborative efforts and a comprehensive strategy.
