Sindh govt decides to extend Rangers special powers

KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to extend special powers of Rangers for the next 90 days, Geo News reported on Sunday. The Rangers had asked for the extension of powers on April 21 through a letter to the Sindh Home Department as its policing powers will expire on May 3.

The home department has sent a summary in this regard to the Chief Minsiter who is expected to grant the extension.

The Rangers along with police and intelligence agencies has been carrying out an operation against criminal elements in Karachi for the last couple of years.
