CM urges fed govt to provide remaining funds for K-IV project


KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has urged the federal government to allocate its complete share of K- IV project in the next budget so it could be completed by end of February 2018.

This he said while talking to DG FWO Lt. General Mohammad Afzal who called him along with his delegation here at the CM House. Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro also attended the meeting.

The DG FWO said that work on Rs25 billion K-IV project, phase - I was in progress on war footings. The phase-II of the project which is purely of mechanical and electrical works yet to be started.

The chief minister said that Sindh government has to release Rs12.5 billion against which Rs6 billion have been allocated for fiscal 2016-17 of which Rs3 bn have been released and remaining are being released.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said that in the next budget his government would allocate Rs6.5 billion - means it total share and urged federal government to allocate it entire amount.

At present the federal government has allocated Rs1 billion for fiscal 2016-17 against which it has released only Rs400 million.

The chief minister also reviewed the progress of Karachi- Thatta dual carriageway on which work was in progress on war footing.

The chief minister appreciated pace of work and urged local government minister Jam Khan Shoro to sign agreement with FWO for K-IV phase so that mechanical and electrical works like installation of pumping stations could be started from August.

" I want this project must complete by February 2018," he said.
