President, PM condemn Lahore suicide attack
ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other political leaders have strongly condemned the Lahore blast and expressed sorrow over the loss of lives.
In their statements issued on Wednesday, President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Pakistan TehreekInsaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, former President Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan’s People Party (PPP) ChairmanBilawal Bhutto Zardari, JUI-F Chief Moulana Fazulur Rehman and all the other political leaders have condemned the terror attack and expressed their condolence over loss of lives.
President Mamnoon and PM Nawaz said they equally share the grief of bereaved families in this hour of distress. The terrorists cannot demoralize us through their dastardly acts, they added.
Mamnoon and Nawaz paid rich tributes to the personnel of Pakistan Army who were targeted while performing their duties during the national census.
PM directed the authorities concerned to extend all requisite assistance to the provincial government.
Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif has also extended sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families. He further ordered the authorities to ensure proper medical treatment to the victims.
Shahbaz directed Inspector General (IG) Punjab to submit report of the mishap as early as possible
IK said in a statement that "an exceptional strategy is indispensable to defeat anti-state elements.”
Moreover, Bilawal Bhutto strongly condemned the act of terrorism, stating that the PPP is the "heir of all those who were martyred in the incident."
