Conduction of census a national obligation: General Bajwa
By: OnlineRAWALPINDI: In light of the attack on the census team in Lahore, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has declared that conduction of census would be completed at any cost.
In a statement, Bajwa said that the soldiers and civil enumerators who embraced shahadat on Wednesday in Lahore in a suicide attack were on census duty.
The army chief said that the successful conduction of census is a national obligation. He said, “Sacrifice of precious lives of civil enumerators and soldiers is beyond any doubt a great sacrifice.” He said these sacrifices will only strengthen our resolve and with the support of entire nation, we will cleanse the menace of terrorism from our soil.
He condoled with bereaved families and paid highest tributes to martyrs who laid their lives in the line of duty.
