Rising loadshedding: PM reprimands ministry, directs smooth supply

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed annoyance over increasing loadshedding in the country.

Chairing a Cabinet's energy committee meeting here, the prime minister reprimanded the officials of the water and power ministry and directed them to immediately improve the supply of electricity.

He said that those responsible for not making prior planning to cope with loadshedding perceiving the shortage of water in reservoirs and severity of the weather be held accountable.

The Ministry of Water and Power told the prime minister that due to sudden rise in temperature the demand for electricity had increased in the country. However, rejecting the excuse, he directed the ministry to improve power supply to provide relief to masses.
