Undeclared martial law in Kashmir: Kashmir resistance leadership

By: Online

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership while strongly condemning the use of brute force against students has called for peaceful protests on Friday after prayers in solidarity with the student community.

The resistance leaders comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik said there is an undeclared martial law and state has been virtually handed over to forces who feel free to kill anybody coming in their way. The leaders criticized the puppet administration for invading the educational institutions and assaulting students saying, “It is absolute state-terrorism.”

“We won’t allow any depraved action against our youngsters. Students are the future of our nation,” they said and hailed the student community for showing exemplary valour. “We are with you,” the leadership while addressing the students said, adding, “The nation stands by you.” The leaders said people through boycott of sham elections declared their verdict, which had frustrated Delhi and its henchmen.

“After the flop show of parliamentary by-elections, the forces were infuriated, used unwanted force against protesting students, barged into Pulwama College, and thrashed students without any justification,” they said.

They added, “We salute the students and are all praise for our young generation for their bravery. The students stand guarantee for our promising and bright future and that is what scares New Delhi.” The pro-freedom leadership said though authorities in New Delhi tried hard to bargain our interests, “however they failed”.

“Puppet rulers instead of calling people for maintenance of peace should check and restrict their forces. There is an undeclared martial law and state has been virtually handed over to forces who feel free to kill anybody coming in their way. Till now, no one was brought to book,” the leaders said. The leadership said forces “are law unto themselves” and that no accountability exits. They said the army officer who tied a youth to the jeep instead of being held accountable is encouraged. “This is a shameful act that the said officer is being portrayed as a hero,” they said.

Strongly criticizing NC, PDP and other pro-India parties, the pro-freedom leadership said, “They have no conscience. They are pursuing power politics and care least about the innocent people.”
