Pakistan has full control over border areas, army delegation tells Afghan officials

RAWALPINDI: On the directions of the Chief of Army Staff, a high-level delegation of Pakistan Army visited Afghanistan, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said on Thursday.

The delegation was led by Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar.

During the visit, the delegation met with the Afghan army chief, acting defence minister Tariq Shah Bahrami and other officials and discussed measures on bilateral border coordination.

The delegation informed the Afghan officials that Pakistan would not allow its soil to be used against Kabul. Pakistan has complete control over its border areas, it added.

The Pakistani delegation condemned, on behalf of Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Taliban attack on Afghan military base in Mazar-e-Sharif last week in which over 100 people were killed.
