Water level in Hub Dam rises after rainfall by six feet

KARACHI: Water level in the Hub Dam increased up to six feet after recent monsoon rainfall enabling the authorities to restore disconnected water supply from the dam to Hub and parts of city here, Geo News reported.

Water supply from the Hub Dam to Hub and parts of Karachi was stopped since the month of April until recently as the level of water had dropped to the dead level due to lack of rainfall.

Following recent rain at Kirthar hilly areas and in the surrounding areas of Khuzdar, rainwater through drain and river started pouring into the Dam increasing water level by six feet.

This has enabled the authorities to restore water supply to parts of Karachi and Hub bringing great relief to the citizens of these localities.
Hub Dam provides 100 million gallons of water per day to Karachi, while Balochistan’s 21,000 acres of lands being irrigated.
