PPP jumps in to protect PML-N government

ISLAMABAD: As the political temperature is rising in the country, former president Asif Ali Zardari has become active to defuse political turmoil, Geo News reported.

In this regard, Asif Zardari contacted Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Awami National Party (ANP) leader Asfandyar Wali.

Zardari and Shujaat agreed upon giving priority to national integrity and solidarity at any cost besides ensuring to protect the rights of masses.

Earlier, opposition leader in National Assembly and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah Monday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan should not go to ‘point of no return’, advising the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to hold negotiations with PTI.

To a question, Shah assured that his party would not allow toppling of the incumbent government at any cost.
