Imran has no confidence in working of national institutions: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal has said that Imran Khan has no confidence in the working of national institutions.

He said that Imran Khan is not believing in the functioning of Parliament and Supreme Court, adding that PTI chief was trying to destabilize the country. Talking to a private TV channel, the minister said that some hidden powers wanted to de-track the country from development and progress.

He said that PTI should avoid taking out protest demonstration on the eve of Independence Day of Pakistan. Ahsan said that 100 percent fair elections could not be possible in any country. He said the world community had accepted the results of general election of Pakistan in 2013.

The minister said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government is showing tolerance, adding that no one should consider it weakness of the government. Government was ready to go forward for negotiating with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief because door could never be closed in the politics.

Replying to a question, he said the government has no powers to audit the votes, adding that Imran Khan has created fuss and unrest in the country. Ahsan said that country was moving towards strong economy due to PML-N policies and there was not a single corruption scandal.

Replying to another question, he said former chief justice had not delivered any speech in Quetta in the favor of PML-N. The minister said that consultation was made with political parties for defusing the current situation.

He said Choudhry Nisar has good relations with PTI chief, adding that current situation of the country was briefed to Imran Khan. The minister said: "It was conspiracy against the country to make the situation like Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Gaza."

He urged all the parties particularly PTI to come forward for the progress of the country.
