Pakistan Railways to run Azadi Train on August 11

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Railways will run Azadi Train on August 11 in connection with Independence Day celeberations and to create awareness among the masses especially younger gerations about efforts and sacrifices rendered in creation of the motherland.

The train will start its a month-long journey from Peshawar on August 11 and reach Karachi on September 11. Two compartments of the train have been allocated to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) to various aspects of the Freedom Movement and services of armed forces. One compartment is allocated to PR highlighting history, while another was allocated to the Ministry of Information. Six floats on the train represent culture of each province and AJK. Governors of all the four provinces and foreign diplomats will also visit.

Various government departments are collaborating in preparation of Azadi train which will go all cities of the country depicting the culture of all the four provinces besides Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. It is endeavor of Pakistan Railways to get sponsorship for Azadi Train instead of spending money from the national exchequer. Cultural programs will also be presented at Azadi Train to attract more and more people.
