Khurshid urges govt to demonstrate patience

ISLAMABAD – Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah speaking on a point of order urged the government to demonstrate patience in the prevailing political circumstances in the country.

He said that government should adopt democratic attitude to defuse the situation. Makhdoom Javed Hashmi was of the view that the country is passing through extra ordinary conditions. He alleged that arrests of political workers are being made in Multan, Layyah and Attock.

Dr Farooq Sattar stressed the need for avoiding confrontation and resolving the issues in a democratic way. Sher Akbar Khan, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Sarwar Khan also criticised the government's policies to tackle the prevailing political situation in the country.

Replying to points raised by members, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed said it is the responsibility of the government to protect life and property of the people.
