Imran asked to confine his comments to politics
Sherpao believes PTI chief has no evidences to substantiate his demand

ISLAMABAD – Former federal minister and Qaumi Watan Party president Aftab Ahmed Sherpao on Saturday criticised Imran Khan for hurling personal allegations against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and said that one should confine his comments to politics.

Talking to journalists after attending the conference held at the PM House here, he said that all political parties were agreed on the fact that Pakistan must not be dragged to political instability and democracy be safeguarded at any cost.

Addressing the security conference, the prime minister did not get any political mileage rather he advocated the supremacy of the constitution and democracy, he said. During the conference, the politicians also advised the government to defuse the ongoing political confrontation, he said.

Talking to the state-run television, Sherpao said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman had no evidences to substantiate his demand for mid-term elections and that prevailing situation would put the military operation in North Waziristan agency to backburner.

He said that business activity would be badly affected in Islamabad if Imran Khan reaches here along with his marchers. It was time to focus on resolving the country's energy and economic issues instead of making the whole nation hostage by protests, he said.
