PTI, PPP demand Article 245 withdrawal

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and Pakistan Peoples Party in National Assembly on Friday demanded the withdrawal of article 245 in Islamabad and also sought the record of its imposition in the country in the past.
Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah demanded the list of official document about invocation of article-245 in the country. “I need copy of a document shared in the house by Ch.Nisar that article-245 was imposed 23 times in the country,” he added. Shah Mahmood Querashi, however lambasted the government when he took the floor and cautioned the government to avoid creating hindrances in Azadi March, as government will be held responsible in case of any human loss.
He advised the government to review its and vowed that PTI will hold its August 14 March at any cost which is our democratic right. Qureshi accused both federal and Punjab government for harassing the PTI’s workers with its undemocratic tactics in different parts of country. “Political stalwarts are making all out efforts to defuse tension between two parties but Punjab government is taking undemocratic measures to further create unrest,” PTI’s leader in the same breath also hurled allegation for arresting Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and PTI’s workers.
Quersahi, however showed his unflinching commitment to democracy. “No body is in favor to derail democracy but government undemocratic measures are creating mess in political arena,” he said, advising the government to show sense of responsibility. Qureshi, asked youngsters to siege the police stations and demand motorbikes impounded in different police station. “Don’t take law into you hands, but demand stand around the police stations where your motorbikes were seized,” he added.
He also criticized the government for blocking the Islamabad roads with containers. “There are rumors to block mobile services on 13 August and August 14,” he added. Later, Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Maryam Aurangzeb lauded Saeeda Warsi taking a bold step over the Gaza crisis. “Government should invite Saeeda Warsi on August 14ceremony as he putting her carrier on stake resigned on principles,” she added.
Minister for National Food Security Sikandar Hayyat Khan Bosan introduced ‘The Seed (amendment) bill,2014 in the House. Earlier, Parliamentary Secretary for Railways, Syed Muhammad Ashiq Hussain Shah ,during question-hour, told the House that Pakistan Railways is in the process of procuring fifty eight locomotives from China and contract to this effect was signed during the previous government. To a question, Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rehman told the House that there was no proposal under consideration to sign a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty with Google and other social media for removal of blasphemous movies.
A Cyber Crime Control Bill has been prepared and submitted to the Cabinet for approval, she added. Earlier in the day, the House Business Advisory Committee of the National Assembly met in Parliament House with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair to discuss further business to be taken up and duration of the current session of the National Assembly.
After discussion, it was unanimously decided to extend the duration of the current Session of the National Assembly till 22nd August, 2014. It was also decided that the Session will be adjourned on 12th August, 2014 and resume on 18th August, 2014. It was agreed that National Assembly would take up question hour, calling attention notices and continue its discussion on the address of the President of Pakistan to both Houses assembled together on June 2, 2014 apart from other legislative business during the current session.
