Ahsan apologetic over barricades, blames protesters
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and central leader of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N, Ahsan Iqbal Sunday apologized to the nation for barricades causing inconvenience to the citizens.
In a statement issued here, he, however, said the government was duty-bound to maintain peace in the country and held the protestors responsible for difficulties being faced by the citizens as a result of demonstrations.
He said rather than ‘Azadi March’ Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan was holding a ‘destruction march. “Why August 14 when a protest demonstration can be held any other day,” Ahsan Iqbal wondered.
He said Imran Khan and his party had chosen a wrong day for staging his protest.
