Sarwar tenders apology to National Assembly speaker

ISLAMABAD – National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has expressed his strong resentment over the statement of Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar that he was ready for recounting of votes in his constituency and said he has no right to speak about his constituency.

The speaker, who avoids making statement over the electronic media, immediately, reacted after governor’s press talk. He said he was ready to immediately follow the instructions of the prime minister about recounting in his constituency.

The speaker said that he had not spoken to the governor on this issue and the governor cannot speak on his behalf. “I am speaker of National Assembly,” he said, adding he knows how to speak about matters.

After the strong reaction of the speaker, the governor immediately apologized over his statement and said he has no right to speak about Ayaz Sadiq.
