PPP not in favour of PM’s resignation: Shah

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Friday opposed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s demand to seek resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
PPP leader Khursheed Shah, who is also the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, said in a statement that Nawaz Sharif would not resign and the PPP too would not support it.
Shah condemned the attack on PTI workers in Gujranwala and said that the practice of attacking the political processions and marches could not be supported.
He demanded that the government take action against those involved in the attack. He urged the PML-N leadership to direct their workers from indulging in such practices. He added that miscreants could take advantage of this situation.
He praised the government for allowing the marchers to enter Islamabad and noted that it has averted a clash that would have, otherwise, happened.
