Won’t allow derailment of democracy: Sirajul Haq
KARACHI: Ameer Jamat-e-Islami (JI), Sirajul Haq Sunday said his party will not allow derailment of democracy in any circumstances while opposition leader Khursheed Shah said such a resolution of the crisis be worked out which is acceptable to both the government and PTI chief Imran Khan.
Sirajul Haq and Khursheed Shah were speaking to media persons after holding a meeting here in the backdrop of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Azadi March and Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s Revolution March.
Sirajul Haq said the entire nation is apprehensive on whatever is happening in Islamabad but added that derailment of democracy and constitution will not be allowed in any circumstances.
“Martial law had never proved appropriate for Pakistan,” the JI Ameer observed.
Opposition leader in National Assembly, Khursheed Shah said one should not lose hope. “We should put our heads together to come up with a solution of the issue at hand,” he added.
