Imran, Qadri urged to withdraw ultimatum: Altaf
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief, Altaf Hussain Sunday urged on Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri to rollback the ultimatum given to the government and hold the matter confined to their demands, Geo News reported.
In a handout issued from London, Altaf Hussain advised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chiefs to refrain from taking every step that could lead to violence and every effort should be made to resolve the issues through dialogues.
In the same breath, Altaf Hussain also urged upon the government to play the role of a big brother and start holding talks with the agitating political parties immediately. Their justified demands should readily be accepted and given assurances on their implementation, Altaf said.
MQM Quaid said that any confrontation would not be in the interest of the country, all the stakeholders should keep the doors open for talks.
Altaf Hussain said that the government and the agitating parties in formulating their strategy should keep in mind that our armed forces are engaged in fighting a war against terrorism.
He also lauded the high spirit of the leaders and workers of PAT and PTI who braved the inclement weather, torrential rains and remained firm to continue their sit-ins peacefully.
