LAHORE – Jamaat-ud-Da’wah (JuD) leader Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has called upon Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri to include peace in Palestine in their charter of demands.

Addressing participant of the ‘Palestine Unity Caravan’ to express solidarity with the people of Gaza, he said that they – Imran and Dr Qadri – should press the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take practical steps to stop the genocide of Palestinians by Israel.

Besides holding protests in major cities including Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad and Multan, JuD also took out a rally in the provincial capital – Palestine Unity Caravan – against the Israeli aggression.

Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan Waleed Abu Ali, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch and other leaders also addressed the participant. Hafiz Saeed said that he had written a letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to summon a conference of Muslim leaders, but he restrained only to protests to expressed solidarity with oppressed Muslims.

He said that the Muslim countries in the world were facing political crisis and national disintegration and it was all because of their silence on brutal killing of innocent Muslims in Palestine and Kashmir. The JuD chief said that Israel was an illegal terrorist state and all Muslim countries should unite against it and ensure that it must vanish from the world’s map.

He said that Pakistan was made in the name of Islam and its atomic bomb also belongs to Islam and must be used as deterrent to save Muslims. In his telephonic address, Ambassador Waleed Abu Ali said that Israel was brutally killing innocent people of Palestine, but unfortunately Muslim world was sitting silent. He also criticized the silence of the United Nations and European Union against the genocide of Palestinians.

He said that the UN officials were just making drama on media and practically doing nothing to stop killings in Gaza. Liaquat Baloch laid stress that foreign ministers of all Muslim countries should play their constructive and dynamic role to re-invigorate OIC on all contemporary challenges faced by the Muslims.
