Civil disobedience call only way to topple Nawaz Sharif govt, says Imran
PTI chairman says they will not allow govt to work

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that his party has 'burnt all boats,' asserting that nothing short of the prime minister's resignation will be acceptable.

“Like Tariq bin Ziyad, we have burnt our boats and there is no turning back. Nothing short of fake-mandated prime minister’s resignation will be acceptable,” said Imran in a micro-blogging website.

He claimed that the parliament was redundant with a fake-mandated government and his civil disobedience call was only way to toppling the government. “Civil disobedience does not stop us from going into ‘red zone’ although I know Nawaz Sharif will flee to Raiwind but even then we will not allow his government to work.”

Imran said that he stopped his workers from going into the ‘red zone’ to stop bloodshed and chaos. Otherwise, he said that the prime minister would have barricaded himself and the poor police would have become targets.

The PTI chairman said that he believed in peaceful protest, asking the police not to stand in the way of protestors. He said that he would announce his further plan of action today. “Let government know I controlled the massive crowds from going into ‘red zone’ because I did not want chaos,” he said.

“But I cannot keep these workers calm forever so Nawaz Sharif should resign immediately in the interest of Pakistan,” Imran said.
