Crisis will deepen if PTI resignations accepted: Sirajul Haq

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul has said that prevailing political crisis will intensify if resignations of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf were accepted.

Speaking to media after meeting National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Sunday, he said “Circumstances will become more complicated after acceptance of resignations as by-elections are mandatory within 60 days”

“We agree resignation should not be accepted, we want face-saving for both the parties,” he added.

Haq said the sit-ins inflicted over Rs700 billion losses to national economy. “Islamabad is under siege; both the parties are on negotiating table and China has also called for resolution of the issue through dialogue,” he said.

Ayaz Sadiq, National Assembly speaker and Imran Khan’s slayer from a Lahore constituency, said he will like to become witness in Kaptan’s wedding, when asked about PTI chief's Sunday statement about his marriage.

Sirajul Haq also saw a positive sign in wedding talk in such an “atmosphere of hatred,” when he was asked by journalist to comment on Imran Khan’s announcement.
