Zardari, Siraj discuss political situation

BEIJING/ISLAMABAD - Former president Asif Ali Zardari on Friday contacted the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq over telephone to discuss the latest political situation.

Asif Ali Zardari said that ultimately the issues will have to be resolved by the political parties themselves. He said that protest was the right of everyone but this time was not suitable for protests. He said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had also reservations over the elections results but they accepted them for the continuity of democracy.

According to the information secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami, the JI chief has decided to expedite the consultative process to defuse the prevailing political crisis
