Indian Home Minister arrives in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: Indian Minister for Home Affairs, Rajnath Singh on Wednesday arrived in Islamabad on a two-day visit to participate in the conference of Interior Ministers of SAARC countries.
Rajnath Singh was warmly welcomed by Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan and other high officials on his arrival.
Strict security measures were adopted on the arrival of Indian Home Minister.
Rajnath Singh will participate in the conference of Interior Ministers of SAARC countries.
Interior Ministers from the SAARC are meeting in the federal capital today in order to discuss a range of issues such as terrorism, drugs and human smuggling.
This is the first time that a high-level Indian delegate is visiting Pakistan after December 2015 when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Singh Modi came to Lahore.
Recently, relations between India and Pakistan deteriorated since the killing of freedom fighter Burhan Wani. After Wani's killing, thousands of people took to the streets in protest as the Indian government imposed a curfew in various areas of occupied Kashmir Valley.
