Pakistani chopper crash-lands in Afghanistan’s Logar province

KABUL: A Pakistani helicopter crash-landed in Logar province of Afghanistan, Afghan media reported on Thursday.

According to Afghan media reports, Taliban have taken six members of the crew into custody after the helicopter made emergency landing.

Afghan Taliban also set ablaze the chopper, however, some media reported the copter caught fire before its crash-landing.

The crew of the plane includes five Pakistanis and a Russian national.

The helicopter belongs to Punjab government and it was en route to Uzbekistan for over-hauling, sources said.

Meanwhile, Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria has said that Pakistan has made contact with Afghan government over incident and getting more details.

The spokesman went on to say they came to know about the crash-landing of the helicopter through media.

Pakistan had obtained permission to use Afghan airspace for a copter belonging to Punjab government. The helicopter had to go for over-hauling.
