COAS orders to intensify combing, targeted ops to eliminate terrorists

RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif has ordered the Commanders and intelligence agencies to intensify the combing and targeted operations with full vigour to eliminate the militants and their sleeper cells from the country.

The Army Chief was chairing Corps Commanders conference in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Commanders expressed solidarity with the families of the victims of Quetta carnage.

General Raheel said, “Quetta blast is a cowardly terror attack on the judiciary of Pakistan. It is an attempt to undermine the successes of operation Zarb-e-Azb.”

He said, “Pakistan’s brave armed forces will not allow anyone to reverse gains in war against terror.”

The Army Chief also directed Commanders to provide all necessary assistance to provincial law enforcement agencies in their capacity building through training, resourcing and planning so as to integrate them effectively in counter terrorism operations.

In the meeting, briefing was given on the ongoing military operations across the country, the ISPR added.
