ISLAMABAD: FO spokesman said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was in constant touch with the Pakistan embassy in Kabul and the Afghan authorities, for the early rescue of crew.

He was talking about the Punjab government's helicopter that crash-landed in Afghanistan on July 4. He said that the crew was safe as updated by the Afghan government.

He also lamented the statement of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani regarding Pakistan's counter-efforts and said that such hostile statements were unhelpful and served the purpose of those who were against peace in Afghanistan.

He said that Pakistan, being the host of Afghan refugees for last 35 years, remained committed to facilitating every effort for peace in Afghanistan and in the region.

About the black-listed US citizen Mathew Craig Barret detained in Islamabad, he said that the issue was being dealt by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Interior Ministry. He said that the visa was issued by the Pakistan's Consulate in Houston and the matter was under investigation to fix the responsibility.

On Pakistani workers stranded in Saudi Arabia, he said that the government was cognizant of the issue and was taking every step to facilitate them.
