SC should’ve taken notice of Panama Leaks: Imran

PTI chief warns PM to ‘do something’ before rally reaches Lahore

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said the Supreme Court should have taken notice of the Panama Leaks issue.

Talking to reporters here at his Bani Gala residence, Imran said the federal government kept on delaying the Panama issue. He added that several months have passed since the issue became public.

Commenting on Tehreek-e-Ehtisab (accountability movement), the PTI chairman said his party’s protest has entered into decisive phase now and that PTI shall not back out at this moment.

Imran Khan said that peaceful protest was PTI’s right, adding that several national institutions - including National Accountability Bureau, Federal Bureau of Revenue, and Election Commission of Pakistan - were not able to deliver.

Later, while addressing the participants of Tehreek-e-Ehtisab rally, Imran said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has yet to respond over allegations leveled against him in the wake of Panama revelations.

The PTI chief added that his party was seeking response from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif since the past five months. He stated that the purpose of the rally was the formation of ‘Naya Pakistan’.

Imran warned Nawaz Sharif to “make a move” before the rally heads to Lahore in its next phase, adding that the prime minister “won’t have time to head for Jeddah if the people reached Lahore”.
