ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reaffirmed on Monday that Pakistan would continue to support the just cause of the people of Indian-held Kashmir (IHK) politically, diplomatically and ethically at every forum.

He said Kashmir was an unfinished agenda of the United Nations as well as partition of the sub-continent. “Pakistan remains committed to settle the Kashmir issue through negotiations and dialogue,” he added.

He was talking to Masood Khan – PML-N’s presidential candidate for Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) – who called on him, a press release said. The struggle of the people of IHK for their right to self-determination had been reinforced by every passing generation with new zeal and spirit, he observed.

Nawaz appreciated the role of Masood Khan in highlighting the Kashmir cause during his various diplomatic assignments particularly during his tenure as Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN.

Masood Khan thanked Nawaz for nominating him as the presidential candidate and said that he would work for the well-being and betterment of the people of AJK and would help in highlighting the just freedom cause of the IHK.
