Government showed zero flexibility on ToRs: Aitzaz Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party leader Aitzaz Ahsan said on Wednesday that the opposition could not demonstrate more flexibility with the government on the issue of the terms of reference of the judicial commission which would hold the Panama Leaks inquiry.

Speaking to media personnel after his meeting with Ayaz Sadiq, Aitzaz Ahsan said that he had told the Speaker that no one would mind coming to his chamber. He disclosed that the government had presented their second draft of the terms of reference in which seventy-five percent of the demands had been met.

Aitzaz said during his talk that during the talks regarding the Panama Leaks controversy to determine the terms of reference, the government showed zero flexibility.

A meeting had been held between Leader of the Opposition Syed Khursheed Shah and federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday in which both had agreed on the formation of a new law to investigate the Panama Leaks.

On Wednesday, disqualification references against the Prime Minister, also pertaining to the disclosures contained in the Panama Papers, were heard by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
