Nisar vows to address concerns of MQM

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday said that he would talk to Rangers DG and Sindh government to address the concerns of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) about alleged harassment and arrests of its workers.

Responding to a point of order of MQM legislature Iqbal Muhammad Ali, the minister termed it a condemnable act and said an inquiry into the incident would also be conducted.

He sought time for this purpose till tomorrow (Thursday) and said he would report back in the House. Earlier, Iqbal Muhammad Ali speaking on a point of order said MQM was being pushed to the wall. He pointed out that MQM office was raided yesterday in Karachi and their eight workers were arrested.

The minister said he had also written a letter to Sindh government to hold a judicial inquiry of death of a person in police custody.
