Pervaiz Rashid opposes ban on MQM
ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has opposed idea of banning Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Speaking in Geo News programme, “Naya Pakistan”, Pervaiz Rashid said the experiment of banning political parties in the past was unsuccessful.
“We conducted experiments of banning political parties in the past but these could not yield significant results,” he said and added there was no need to repeat such mistake.
It should be admitted that MQM leader Farooq Sattar took step in right direction after making right decision, the minister said and also urged Sattar to support the provincial government in action against miscreants.
Also, Advisor to CM Sindh on Law, Murtaza Wahab and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Arif Alvi have opposed the idea of banning MQM.
Murtaza Wahab said MQM is a political reality and putting ban on it would not resolve the issue.
