PML-N plan for GT Road rally finalised

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will lead party's political rally that travels from Islamabad to Lahore through Grand Trunk (GT) Road on Wednesday.

The rally's plan was crafted by senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and will begin its journey from D-Chowk in Islamabad to Blue Area and then will travel to Zero Point where it will merge with other supporting groups.

Afterwards, the rally is expected to move to Rawalpindi through Murree Road and then to Lahore via GT Road, PML-N sources said. The former premier will also visit Data Darbar in the provincial capital.

The party’s initial plan was to conduct the rally on Sunday through Motorway, but had to postpone the plan for preference of travelling via GT Road and time required for security arrangements.

The rally was announced after Nawaz was ousted by the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan with regards to Panama Papers case on July 28.
