PM condemns terror attack in Barcelona

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Barcelona. “Spain and its people have a long history of multiculturalism and defense of freedoms; one that cannot easily be scared out of them,” said the PM.

“The terrorists that seek to change peoples’ ways through fear and terror, underestimate the resilience of good people and the fundamental decency of the men and women they attack,” he said.

The PM said that so long as the terrorists underestimated the spirit of the societies they sought to undermine, they would lose.

PML-N MNAs from DG Khan call on PM: A delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNAs from Dera Ghazi Khan called on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

The MNAs briefed the PM regarding the development schemes going on in their respective constituencies. The PM said that the PML-N government strongly believed in public service and was working wholeheartedly for addressing public grievances. The PM advised the MNAs to work with full dedication for bringing about tangible positive change.

The PM stated that the government was focusing on development of Southern Punjab and would allocate maximum possible resources for development schemes.

The PM directed the Finance Division to clear all funds allocated to development schemes of the region on fast track. “I will remain accessible to resolve any issue related to development of the DG Khan region,” he said. Federal Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Minister of State for Communications Hafiz Abdul Kareem, MNAs Sardar Muhammad Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa, Sardar Muhammad Jaffar Khan Leghari, Mr. Hafeez ur Rehman Khan Drishak, Malik Sultan Mehmood Hanjra, Sardar Ashiq Hussain Gopang, Sahibzada Faiz ul Hassan, Syed Muhammad Saqalain Shah Bukhari, Shahnaz Saleem Malik attended the meeting. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed and Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryum Aurangzeb were also present.

Separately, Adviser to PM on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui called on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the PM Office. Matters pertaining to the National History and Literary Heritage Division came under discussion at the meeting.
