PM inaugurates IDEAs 2014 defence exhibition in Karachi

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday inaugurated the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2014 at Expo Center, Karachi that will last for four days.

While addressing from the occasion, the PM said that armed forces equipped with latest technology are pertinent for the country’s defence and sovereignty. Currently, Pakistan has the modern defence system while the country is determined to achieve success in operation Zarb-e-Azb.

He further said that the safeguarding the sovereignty is the priority for any independent country. A state should always be prepared to face the challenges to national security.

It may be mentioned that the exhibition is showcasing exhibits including tanks, aircraft, APCs ammunition, ship building and communications related equipment of 232 defence companies of the world.

China has the biggest pavilion at the exhibition followed by Turkey.

After inauguration, the Prime Minister also visited various stalls and met with the key delegates.
