I would not have sent army to tribal areas had I been in power: Imran
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said on Tuesday that he would not have sent the army to the tribal areas had he been in power. He said the government does not know how many plans he had.
He said the people would have to sacrifice for the shutdown of Pakistan, as freedom could not be won without rendering sacrifices.
Imran told his supporters at the PTI sit-in here from atop container that the rulers had no idea how many plans he still had in his mind to push ahead his campaign for the acceptance of his demands.
He noted that all the political parties had joined hands against his party but they were still determined to achieve success. “People will surely face difficulties when the cities will be shut down,” he maintained.
Imran said that he alone could do nothing and that he had won the World Cup also with the support of the team. “For a new Pakistan, I shall also need a team. Masses will make a new Pakistan and I shall only show the way how to do it,” he noted.
The PTI chairman was confident enough to declare that fresh general elections would take place before the next Eid. However, he did not clarify it would be Eidul Fitr or Eidul Azha.
He said that the new Pakistan would come into being after free and transparent elections and those who had stolen the people’s electoral mandate last year would be held accountable.
The PTI chief was confident that a transparent election would bring forward new and educated people and said one did not need rocket science to pull the masses out of poverty. “What is needed is taking correct decisions,” he said.
Imran claimed Pakistan’s destiny would change if only 200 honest professionals were appointed on key posts.He said lifting 110 million people out of the poverty would be a major challenge, which they would be facing after building the ‘Naya Pakistan’.
