Nawaz urges Afghan, UK leaders for measures for return of Afghan refugees
LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has urged the Afghan and British leadership to take measures for the return of Afghan refugees from Pakistan, Geo News reported.
This he said during a meeting at the table of breakfast with British PM David Cameron, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah here Friday.
The British PM assured PM Nawaz Sharif that the region would not be left in hard and dry like in the past and Afghan government and the world community would take measures for the return of refugees.
Pakistan and Afghanistan leadership also vowed to fight terrorism jointly.
PM Nawaz Sharif assured to assist new Afghan government on other grounds besides intelligence sharing.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reached the official residence of his British counterpart David Cameron at 10 Downing Street on Friday where they held one on one meeting for half and hour.
According to the sources, the two leaders discussed regional security situation with special reference to Afghanistan and situation after the NATO troops’ withdrawal.
Upon his arrival to 10 Downing Street, PM Nawaz was welcomed by British PM David Cameron.
The Pakistani premier is on a three-day visit to the United Kingdom where he participated in the Conference on Afghanistan, co-hosted by the governments of the UK and Afghanistan.
The PM presented a nine-point agenda to the international community seeking assistance in reforming Afghanistan.
