CM Punjab takes notice of MQM leader Bao Anwar’s killing

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif Wednesday took notice of the killing of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) District Vice President Sialkot Bao Muhammad Anwar Tuesday night and sought report from the DPO Sialkot.

CM Shahbaz ordered Sialkot police to ensure the arrest of the killers within next 12 hours, said official sources.

The CM Punjab ordered for immediate arrest of the killers involved in Bao’s killing and instructed the DPO Sialkot to present a detailed report of the incident.

CM Shahbaz further stated that the culprits will not be able to escape from punishment and ordered the authorities to ensure the arrest of the assailant.

It may be mentioned that Bao Anwar was gunned down by some unknown armed persons in the city early hours of Wednesday.

Two other activists of MQM Sialkot Muneer Ahmed and Muhammad Younus were also injured in the firing. According to senior police officials, the reason behind the murder has not been ascertained yet. Several police teams led by senior police officials were conducting raids at various places for the arrest of killers more details are awaited.

Meanwhile, MQM lodged protest in Sialkot city against the murder and blocked traffic on various roads of Sialkot. They demanded prompt arrest of the killers.
