INP

ISLAMABAD – Former chief justice Abdul Hameed Dogar on Wednesday challenged the special court’s decision in treason case under article-VI against former president Pervez Musharraf.

Three-judge special court headed by Sindh High Court’s Justice Faisal Arab in its decision over a plea of the defence ordered the government to investigate the role of Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and former law minister Zahid Hamid as abettors in the case.

Advocate Iftikhar Hussain Gillani has filed petition of the former chief justice Abdul Hameed Doggar in Islamabad High Court challenging the special court’s decision. The special court and Musharraf were made party in the petition. Justice Dogar contended in his plea that he has nothing to do with November 3, 2007 step of former president Pervez Musharraf.

The former chief justice has also challenged the jurisdiction of the special court in his petition.
