Fatemi briefs UN officials on human rights violations in Kashmir

NEW YORK: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi met the United Nations Deputy Secretary General Jan Eliasson and highlighted the recent human rights violations and Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir. Fatemi also met the nominated UN Secretary General António Guterres.

Pakistan representative to UN Maleeha Lodhi also participated in the meetings where both clearly highlighted Pakistan’s stance on the on-going issues with India and mentioned that Pakistan is still in favour to solve issues through dialogue but constant Line of Control (LOC) and human rights violations in Kashmir by India would never solve any issue.

It is pertinent to mention that Fatemi is currently in US to meet the current US administration and those who will likely join the new administration under President elect Donald Trump.
