Was disqualified when minus-one didn’t work: Nawaz

LAHORE: Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif said on Saturday that he was disqualified when the ‘minus-one’ formula did not work against him, adding scores are being settled on the pretext of accountability.

Addressing at the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party rally in Quetta’s Ayub Stadium, Nawaz said his disqualification by the judges who had taken oath under a PCO is unacceptable.

Nawaz said that such decisions become the undoing of nations and the practice which has been going on for 70 years and needs to end.

The former PM also said that he will continue to practice ideological politics.

He praised the people of Balochistan, saying that they have always crusaded against dictatorships and are the ones who have truly upheld the constitution.

Nawaz Sharif reached Quetta earlier today and held a meeting with Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai at Governor House.

Upon arrival, Nawaz was greeted by the head of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri.
