Model Town incident: Shahbaz, Sana must resign for killing citizens: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday called for the resignations of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah over the 2014 Model Town incident.
In a tweet, the PTI chief said that after the release of Justice Ali Najafi Judicial Commission report, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah should immediately resign for killing Pakistani citizens. He maintained that early elections are the only solution to issues being faced by democracy.
Meanwhile, PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry criticised frequently allowing Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Muhammad Safdar to go abroad while the references against them had entered the final phase.
He claimed this was causing a deep concern among the masses.
He contended that the provinces and political parties’ concern over what he called VIP accountability of the Sharifs was justified and added there was no reason in punishing those involved in petty crimes, if those who had looted billions were not to be handcuffed.
