ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan was reportedly furious over his lawyer Babar Awan after the hearing today as Anti-Terror Court (ATC) judge Shahrukh Arjumand extended his bail for just four days.

According to BBC Urdu, Imran Khan said while talking to Babar Awan coming out of the court that he thought it was going to be the last appearance before the court. Babar Awan was still trying to sxplain himself when Khan shut his car’s door on his lawyer and left for his residence in Bani Gala.

It is pertinent to mention here that it was Imran Khan’s third appearance before the ATC and seemed to be upset from the situation as per BBC Urdu’s report. The same court had earlier issued his arrest warrants in the four cases under anti-terrorism act.

Imran Khan’s lawyer has challenged the domain of the ATC in this case, maintaining that protesting for political rights didn’t fall under anti-terror laws. The lawyer has also demanded sending the case to the District and Session judge.

During the hearing, Babar Awan cited Faizabad sit-in’s example, saying that the government had withdrew all the cases against the protesters of that sit-in, to which the judge replied that the cases had not been withdrawn and the protesters were securing bails in their respective cases.

The government’s lawyer claimed on the occasion that he had irrefutable evidence to prove that the suspect had been inciting people to attack the parliament as well as the Islamabad police chief. He added that Imran Khan’s case fell under ten different anti-terror clauses.

Talking to media after the hearing, Imran Khan expressed solidarity with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri over the Model Town tragedy in which 14 people had died on June 17, 2014. Imran Khan said that his party will support Dr Tahirul Qadri if the latter decided to march on Islamabad for justice in the case.

The PTI chief Imran Khan and PAT chief Tahirul Qadri are mocked as ‘political cousins’ by the opponents ever since the two marched on Islamabad in August 2014.
