Corruption reference: NAB issues 'Red Notice' for Dar's extradition

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to bring Senator Ishaq Dar back to the country through the Interpol.

A NAB executive board meeting presided over by Chairman Javed Iqbal had decided to issue the Red Notice for the former finance minister, who is reportedly undergoing medical treatment for a heart-related ailment in London, an official announcement said here on Thursday.

The former minister does not seem to be suffering from any serious heart ailment, which could not be treated at home, the meeting said.

The meeting was told that the NAB had already declared Dar as proclaimed offender.

Earlier this week, Accountability Court Judge Mohammad Bashir had observed in a detailed judgement that the under-trial former finance minister does not seem to have a serious heart condition.

On Monday, the accountability court had declared Ishaq Dar an absconder in a corruption reference after the former finance minister repeatedly failed to join the trial.
