Blackwater present in country, NA committee
ISLAMABAD: Members of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Interior on Monday said that the private US security firm Blackwater was present in the country. However, Interior Secretary Qamar Zaman Chaudhry denied there was any such agency in Pakistan.
The interior secretary told the committee that intelligences agencies had also confirmed the non-presence of Blackwater in Pakistan.
Speaking on this occasion, Bushra Gohar, a member of the standing committee’ told that she herself had seen armed men of Blackwater roaming around the Peshawar University Town.
Abdul Qadir Patel, chairman of the committee, said asked the interior secretary for a comprehensive report who these armed people were and what were they doing there.
