World community urged to fulfil aid pledges


PESHAWAR: The NWFP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour urged the international community to fulfil their aid pledges for the elimination of the terrorism, so that the terrorists could not have chance to re-surge.

Talking to Geo News, Bashir said Friends of Democratic Pakistan promised pledges worth billion of rupees to help Pakistan fight the terrorism; accordingly, the federal government announced to give Rs87 billion for the NWFP province and allocate Rs50 billion for the province.

He added however, the international brethren did not give even a penny.

The province has not received thus far the Rs17 billion amount announced by the premier for Malakand, he informed that of the amount, one billion rupee was announced to be given within a week; however, the week lapsed and the announcement is hitherto unrealized.
