Shikarpur incident provincial government’s responsibility, says Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar took to the floor of the National Assembly and placed the responsibility of the Shikarpur incident on the Sindh government. Nisar said intelligence agencies and security institutions work under the chief minister. He added the federal government only provides intelligence sharing. “It is not right to play politics on issues of security.” The interior minister said 5-9 KG of explosives were used by the bomber in Shikarpur and 62 lives were lost. “Unfortunately sectarianism has existed in Shikarpur for some time.” According to Nisar terrorists from Afghanistan and Khyber Pakhutnkhwa would pass through Shikarpur to reach Karachi. “There is a centre in Shikarpur which is under the watch of security agencies.” Nisar emphasised that the entire nation would have to unite against terrorists. The interior minister further said a finger of the terrorist involved in the Shikarpur blast had been found and his identification by NADRA would be completed today. He added that the tailor who stitched the terrorist’s clothes was in custody.
