Chief election commissioner calls on PM Nawaz assures full support of govt to CEC in carrying out his duties

ISLAMABAD - Newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retired) Sardar Muhammad Raza paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the PM House here on Wednesday and briefed him about the working of the commission. The Prime Minister congratulated Sardar Muhammad Raza for his appointment as CEC and hoped that he would fulfil the responsibilities as mandated by the Constitution of Pakistan. The prime minister hoped that the CEC would ensure foolproof arrangements for the conduct of general elections in 2018. He assured government’s whole hearted support to the Election Commission in carrying out its duties.
